Zhang Han Dates of birth and death unknown. A famous general of the Qin Dynasty, he fought against Xiang Yu at Julu and Jiyuan. However, due to Zhao Gao's autocratic rule and his rejection of Zhang Han's requests, Zhang Han surrendered to Xiang Yu. He was then enfeoffed as the King of Yong, ruling the area west of Xianyang with his capital in Feiqiu. Later, he was defeated by Han Xin, a general of the Han Dynasty. Zhang Xuecheng (1738–1801) Styled Shizhai, he was from Kuaiji (now Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province) in the Qing Dynasty. He was a Jinshi (successful candidate in the highest imperial examination) during the reign of Emperor Qianlong and served as an official in the Imperial College. He was proficient in history and was well - known for compiling local chronicles. His works include General Principles of Literature and History, General Principles of Bibliography, and A Study of Historical Records.
