### Feng Xuan A native of the Qi State during the Warring States period. He was a retainer under Lord Mengchang. Once, he sang while strumming his sword, complaining about having no fish to eat and no carriage to ride. When Lord Mengchang heard this, he gave him special treatment. Later, Feng Xuan went to Xuecheng to collect debts for Lord Mengchang. He summoned the creditors and burned their debt bonds, making the people of Xuecheng grateful for Lord Mengchang's kindness. ### Feng Menglong (1574–1646) With the courtesy names Youlong and Ziyou. A native of Wu County, Jiangsu Province, he was a literati in the Ming Dynasty. He was a successful candidate in the imperial examination during the Chongzhen period and served as the magistrate of Shouning County. He was full of talent, skilled in poetry and prose, and well - versed in Confucian classics. He wrote several kinds of operas and was especially famous for his novels *Jing Shi Tong Yan* (*General Words to Warn the World*), *Yu Shi Ming Yan* (*Illustrative Stories to Instruct the World*), and *Xing Shi Heng Yan* (*Constant Words to Awaken the World*), which are collectively called "Three Words". ### Feng Yuxiang (1880–1948) With the courtesy name Huanzhang. A native of Chaoxian County, Anhui Province. He joined the New Army at the end of the Qing Dynasty and served under Duan Qirui. In 1921, he was appointed as the military governor of Henan. During the Zhifeng War, he defected to the Fengtian clique, quickly occupied Beijing, and supported Duan Qirui as the president. The Fengtian clique was defeated the next year. Later, he joined the Kuomintang and once served as the commander - in - chief of the Northwestern National Army and the governor of Henan Province. After the victory of the Anti - Japanese War, he went abroad. When he was on his way back to China from the Soviet Union, the ship caught fire in the Black Sea and he was burned to death.
