Surname Origin
The origin of the surname "Pi": It comes from the Ji surname and is derived from the given name of a prince. According to "Fengsu Tongyi" (General Knowledge of Customs) and "Yuanhe Xingzuan" (The Genealogy of Surnames in the Yuanhe Period), Zhongshan Pu, the second son of Duke Xian of Lu, assisted King Xuan of Zhou in restoring the prosperity of the Zhou Dynasty and was enfeoffed in the Fan邑. Later, his descendants took the surname Fan.
