Migration and Distribution The prominent lineages of the Sang clan reside in Henan (now northeast of Luoyang, Henan) and Liyang (now northeast of Xunxian, Henan). There are a large number of people with the surname Sang in Guzhen County, Suzhou, and Taihe in Anhui Province. In Donggao Village, Daxinzhuang, Xiaoxinzhuang, Sangjiazhuang, and Taoyuan Village in Heshan Township, Ningyang County, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, there are about ten thousand people with the surname Sang. There are also several thousand people with the surname Sang in Tuntou Village, Taoyuan Town, Feicheng City, Shandong Province. The Sang people in various places in Shandong all originated from Donggao Village in Heshan Township, Ningyang County. This village (formerly named (pronounced) Sangjiahaizi) has a clan temple and genealogy for the Sang family (their ancestors were from Hongtong County, Shanxi and settled here after migrating in the early Ming Dynasty). There is a clan of the Sang family in Yanjiawu Village, Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province, with about 400 people. It is said that their ancestors came from within Shandong. In Huangzhuang Town, Laiwu City, Shandong Province, there are several thousand people with the surname Sang in villages such as Jinshuihe, Dongwangjiazhuang, Nanbeitongxiangyu, Taizi Village, Qieziyu Village, and Sangjiazhuang. There are also a large number of people with the surname Sang in Shouguang, Shandong. However, they share the same origin as the Sang people in Guzhen, Anhui, both coming from Shanxi. There is a village called Sangjiazhuang (formerly named Shangzhuang) in Qixia, Yantai, Shandong, where the whole village has the surname Sang.
