Yuan Shao (? - 202) Style name: Benchu. He was from Dongyang Ruyang (now northwest of Shangshui County, Henan Province). He once led an army to fight against Dong Zhuo. Later, he occupied Hebei. He fought with Cao Cao at Guandu, suffered a great defeat, and died of illness. Yuan Chonghuan (? - 1630) Style name: Yuansu. He was from Dongguan in the Ming Dynasty. He was courageous and fond of discussing military affairs. He was a Jinshi in the Wanli period. During the Tianqi period, he made remarkable achievements in defending against the Qing troops and was gradually promoted to the position of Imperial Censor-in-Chief and the governor of Liaodong. In the Chongzhen period, he served as the Minister of War and the Right Vice Censor-in-Chief, and commanded the troops in Jizhou and Liaodong. He wrote works such as Collected Poems and Essays of Xiaocang Mountain House, Suiyuan Poetry Talks, and Suiyuan Essays. Yuan Shikai (1859 - 1916) Style name: Weiting, alias: Rong'an. He was from Xiangcheng, Henan Province. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, he was appreciated by Li Hongzhang. During the Hundred Days' Reform, he got in favor by informing on others. He served as the governor of Shandong, was promoted to the governor of Zhili, and later held positions such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Grand Councillor. When the Revolution of 1911 broke out, as the Prime Minister of the Cabinet, he used the Beiyang military force to negotiate with the revolutionary army, forced the Qing emperor to abdicate. Mr. Sun Yat-sen resigned as the President, and he became the first President of the Republic of China. Later, he attempted to restore the monarchy. Mr. Sun Yat-sen called on the whole country to condemn him, and he died of grief and indignation.
