Fang Shu A minister during the reign of King Xuan of the Western Zhou Dynasty (8th century BC), he was credited with successful military campaigns against the ancient ethnic group Xianyun. Fang Xiaoru (1357–1402) Styled Xizhi, also Xigu, he was a loyal subject of Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty and a native of Ninghai. He took it as his mission to clarify the kingly way and bring peace to the world. He was skilled in writing and named his study "Zhengxue". He served as a scholar - in - waiting. He was executed for refusing to draft an imperial edict for King Yan to ascend the throne. During the reign of King Fu, he was posthumously honored as Wen Zheng. His works include Houcheng Ji and Xigutang Gao. Fang Bao (1668–1749) Styled Fengjiu, with the literary name Linggao and later Wangxi, he was a native of Tongcheng, Anhui in the Qing Dynasty. He rose to the position of assistant minister. In academic studies, he followed the Neo - Confucianism of the Song Dynasty. When interpreting the classics, he expounded on the doctrines of Cheng Yi, Cheng Hao, and Zhu Xi, with a particular focus on the Three Rites in the Spring and Autumn Period. In literature, he emulated Han Yu and Ouyang Xiu, strictly adhering to the rules of righteousness and style. He was the founder of the Tongcheng School. His works include Zhouguan Bian, Chunqiu Tonglun, Liji Xiyi, and Wangxi Wenji.
