Pang Juan A general of the State of Wei during the Warring States period, he studied the art of war under Guiguzi with Sun Bin. Out of jealousy of Sun Bin's ability, he had Sun Bin's feet cut off. Later, when the States of Wei and Qi were at war, Sun Bin served as a general of the State of Qi and trapped Pang Juan at Maling. Finding himself at the end of his wits, Pang Juan committed suicide by slitting his throat. (He was not shot dead by Sun Bin.) "Records of the Grand Historian: Biographies of Sun Tzu and Wu Qi" Pang Tong (179–214) A native of Xiangyang during the Three Kingdoms period, with the courtesy name Shiyuan, he was the nephew of De Gong. When he was young, he was simple and slow-witted, and no one recognized his talent. He went to visit Sima Hui, who was very surprised by him and called him the paragon of scholars in the southern state. From then on, his reputation gradually spread.
