tán 谈

"Tan" (谈) has the following origins: 1. According to "Xing Yuan" (《姓苑》), after Song Weiziqi in the Western Zhou Dynasty, there was someone who was enfeoffed in Tan. The State of Tan was the same as the State of Tan (郯). During the Spring and Autumn Period, Tanzi visited the State of Lu. Later, the state perished. The old site of the State of Tan was north of present - day Tancheng, Shandong Province. It was destroyed by the State of Yue in the early years of the Warring States Period. 2. There was a doctor named Ji Tan in the Zhou Dynasty, and his descendants also adopted the surname Tan. Historically, some people with the surname Tan changed their surname to Tan (谭).
