### Mulan A filial daughter who disguised herself as a man to join the army in place of her father. There is a poem about her in the ancient Yuefu (a collection of Chinese folk songs). Yao Ying in *Kang You Ji Xing* thought she was from the Northern Wei Dynasty, Song Xiangfeng in *Guo Ting Lu* believed she lived during the reign of Emperor Gong of the Sui Dynasty, and Cheng Dachang in *Yan Fan Lu* thought she was either from the Sui or Tang Dynasty because of the line "The Khan is calling a big muster" in the poem about Mulan. Her surname is unknown; some think her surname is Hua. ### Hua Yun A famous general in the early Ming Dynasty, who died at the hands of Chen Youliang.
